Any possibility of listing the sizes of the specimens?

Yep, as soon as I find the time. It is a lot of work looking them up at the moment, expecting Jolyon to walk through the door any minute for a stay here. I promise to add the sizes when my life settles a bit! I have Irv Brown arriving on Friday too...so it is the usual crazy weekend ahead!

Dear Gail:

So glad you have the chalcocite. It was always one of our favorites. It's looking beautiful in Jeff's photo, as always.

Dawn, thank you. I am so tired I called it Chacopyrite! Egads, I know better. Been cleaning and cooking in prep. for the weekend. I have had a number of your pieces photo'd and love that we have them in our collection...makes me think of you when I see them. I had never met Jim, but I feel as though I know something of him through the pieces we have, and of you of course! You are always delightful.
Hugs, Gail

Well Debbie, it's real. The dealer I bought it from is on this forum quite often and I doubt he would be selling me fakes!
( and it was not expensive at all, so no reason to make fakes? )

I have seen a fair number of these but only as loose fluorites. This is the first I have seen on matrix. They clearly are the product of natural etching, in some ways similar to the etched fluorites from Elmwood, Tennessee. Congratulations Jim, a very nice catch!

Is there any sign that the flourite "scepter" could have been glued onto the matrix?

Just above the bubble gum and under the double stick tape I think see some gorilla glue drops.

No problem Debbie, I know you weren't being disrespectful! You are always very nice. We have had this under the microscope, no signs of anything untoward.
Jolyon is looking at it as I type.

Jolyon says it is a 100 percent real, without a doubt it is genuine.

That's excellent. Personally I think it's much nicer to have a specimen on matrix than a floater.

No upset here, was actually amused as you might note from my bubble gum retort! It was a legit question that you asked. I probably wouldn't put a fake on here, just for future reference. We pretty much do our darndest to scope everything and the few times we have seen anything suspicious we refuse the mineral.

It's probably going to get harder to tell, they are getting really good at faking these days.Cheers everyone!

The fluorite is cuter than all heck==one of those weird and wonderful pieces that show up every so often. They're fun.
