Does anyone have any biographically information on this collector whose minerals were dispersed a few years ago? I'm looking for anything as part of the provenance of his collecting.
Thanks.

His collection was dispersed by Ian Bruce out of the UK and the Leichts of Kristalle in California, I would expect one of them has or can guide you to some detailed information _________________ Siempre Adelante! |

In case anyone else has pieces from the Wein collection, here is the info I have gotten from Wayne & Dona at Kristalle:
"Wein was in the construction business in Stuttgart - collected for over 50 years - great focus on gem mineral, alpine, black forest and european classics.....he had a neighbor who shuffled back and forth to Pakistan so in the last few years before he sold us the collection he obtained a number of those pieces."
If anyone else knows anything else about him, I would appreciate a point in the right direction.

I have images of his collection taken 15 years ago. The collection consisted of a lot of large specimens, some quite good but of typical old time European style among which were some American style pieces, i.e. little matrix w larger crystals.
It was quite a large collection as to number of specimens and "kilos". Similar info as Kristalle. I think he had collected for some 50 years in the mid 90s. |
