Thanks for all the late nights and effort Gail - you make people feel part of a community not just looking at pretty crystals...speaking of love that Kunzite and the story.

Gail

If you are looking for a name to go with picture DSC0067, that is Jim Parrish from San Diego. He is a collector, and was and I assume still is very active with the San Diego Gem and Mineral Socitey.

Thank YOU! I had it written down somewhere, but it was so late when I posted I didn't get around to adding his name. Will fix it right away, again...thank you.

PostPosted: Feb 09, 2011 19:49    Post subject: Re: Gail Spann's Version of a Tucson show report 2011

I am popping in before heading off to dinner with Jordi and friends, then on to Ray Hill's place with Jolyon and Job Budd, etc. I helped to set up the Mindat display for minerals ten dollars or less found at the show. Jessica Siminoff and I wrapped fabric for the liners.
I managed to roam around and take photos of the cases as they put the displays in, WOW....some amazing minerals and worth coming to see.
The MAD case was coming along nicely and we are pleased to have a few pieces displayed from our collection.
Jim is in the arctic tundra known as Dallas! Freezing conditions and lots of ice has the City pretty much closed down. I am praying he makes it on Friday!!!

Ran into Linda Vanegas Smith today, we are all chatter!

Jolyon and I had a chance to spend much of the day together, we were both snapping photos like mad. Got some GOOD ones too!

Must run, will try to post some tonight.
Cheers, Gail

PostPosted: Feb 10, 2011 02:39    Post subject: Re: Gail Spann's Version of a Tucson show report 2011

Back from a really enjoyable evening with John and Merle White, Bob Cook, Jordi and Jordi.
What a pleasant and nice quiet dinner full of great teasing and stories. Then I drove over to Ray Hill's party and visited and ran into Jim Hall and Everett "E". Linda Smith, Mark Mauthner, Trevor Kitto and Alex.....

Drove Mike Rumsey home and had a great time chatting about an event Jim and I are hosting tomorrow night.
Great weather today, sunny and pleasant.
