Hello Carles Millan,

Specific minerals in Trepća – Republic of Kosovo are: sphalerite, galena, pyrite, arsenopyrite, pirotin, calcite, rhodochrosite, siderite, dolomite, silica. Other minerals are not much important .

The presented mineral Sphalerite is as big as: 8 cm x 7 cm x 3 cm
I am very satisfied that my minerals are well liked by other collectors as well. I have presented only my favourite examples.

Hi just wanted to confirm that in Trepca mine - the Republic of Kosovo except these cheap minerals that you've mentioned there you can find Vivianite, Ludlamite, Quartz, Bournonite, Aragonite, Baryte, Marcasite Gold, Limonite and a lot of other minerals that for the moment I cant remember so with all respect I'm trying to tell that you have no idea what all can come out of Trepca mine.

Hello Besi !

All that you have written is true!

Parageneses specific for Trepća are: Sphalerite, Galena, Pyrite, Arsenopyrite, Pyrrhotite, Calcite, Rhodochrosite, Siderite, Dolomite, Silica. Other minerals are not so common as for example: Aragonite, Chalcedony, Tetrahedrite, Vivianit, Childrenit ...

Trepća is still one of the most important zinc and lead ore mines in the world. Over 70 different minerals have been reported. Therefore, Kosovo has won its independence. Collectors highly appreciate specimens of Sphalerite, Galena, Pyrrhotite, Dolomite and Vivianite and the biggest crystals ever found originate from that region (for example, galena, sphalerite, dolomite as big as 20 cm)

Vivianit has a special value as it is difficult to obtain, while its price goes from 200 Euros upwards. I have been looking for a long time for Vivianite, but I have not found it yet for a reasonable price.

Sphalerite, rhodochrosite, arsenopyrite, pyrite

A magnificent example of a typical Sphalerite crystals in combination with crystalline arsenopyrite, pyrite and rhodochrosite. Habitat Stari trg (Old Market), Republic of Kosovo, Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo.
Size 10 x 8 x 5 cm

Dear Leon,

Your collection is quite interesting, so I believe it deserves to be well documented in FMF Gallery -> https://www.topminerals.info/

To do it I added myself the details (name, locality and size) of each specimen in the right place: the box "File Comment" located below the box "Filename" you use to download the images. Then all your specimens will display properly the details in your gallery of "FMF Gallery" -> https://www.topminerals.info/index.php?searchterms=&searchauthor=Leon56&level=search

You don't need to do nothing else to be there we prepared a system that collect the images automatically, but please in your future post remember to fill in the "File Comment" box in the same way as I did with your previous posts. For more infos please use -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=1376

Thank you for your participation in FMF

Jordi

Dear Jordi Fabre!

I am delighted that you accepted me so nicely at the forum and as well that you find my collection of minerals interesting. I have to thank you for creating my FMF gallery by which I can display my minerals to others.
In addition to the mineral from Kosovo I have also 3 other atractive samples which I am willing to present if there is interest for it.

Hi Leon56 !

Please, don't skip the field 'Description' associated to each picture and fill the 'File comment' box, as recommended above by Jordi -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=17675#17675
In your recent two last posts I had to edit them.

Thanks for your excellent photos.

Heulandite on Calcite

Size: 7 x 5 x 4 cm
Source: Pune District (Poonah District), Maharashtra, India

Note:
It was difficult to take a picture of this mineral, because it is very crystalinic.

Interesting:
This minerall is distinguished by numerous excellent transparent sparkling crystals. Heulandite-Ca, the most common of these, is a hydrous calcium and aluminium silicate.

Fact: Azurite and Malachite are basic carbonates of copper. The two stones are often found mixed together creating beautiful patterns. They are found wherever there are copper deposits.
