Just finished day one at the Westward Look, all I can say is WOW! I have taken 276 photos. Lots of familiar faces, great minerals, fabulous weather and good chocolate!
Jim and I are meeting up with the Weinrichs for dinner so will do some photos and report later, unless too many margaritas!

So, I only had one BIG margarita and am staying awake quite nicely so far.
Jim is cataloging minerals as I am busy doing my show report. We spent a great deal of our day catching up with old and new friends, it was more about the social, but we still managed to see a lot of minerals.

...We had dinner with Jolyon Ralph and his fiance, Katya as well as Irv Brown and our friend Eva. Jolyon heads up Mindat.

...We had a chance to see what the Arkenstone had set out for sale the first day of WL show. These are, mostly, pieces that were once Herb and Moni Oboddas that were on display at the U of A this past year.

Last year I had fallen in love with this group of Kunzite after finding out that it was once a single mineral that had broken into three pieces. It had started to reheal and was, eventually, discovered. This was on display for the U of A over the past year.
Rob was gracious enough to show us how it went together.
