Just came to my mind during a competition of mineral related jokes on German Mineralientlas forum. I simply love lame jokes, sorry :)

HI Tobi!
For sure they are good jokes! But I think just a mineralogist could understand it! Unfortunately I know many jokes about minerals, but the biggest majority of them is made by Italian word-games, therefore it's almost impossible to translate them in English.
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

Wonderful joke.
I have no visual jokes to contribute but I do have the following bit of a conversation I overheard between two friends of mine back when we were stuying geology. The winning punster had been a music major before changing to study geology.
Upon being told he couldn't "take just anything for granite", Ed replied:
"If I couldn't Handel puns any better than that, I would go Bach into Hyden."
No one ever tried to trump Ed at punning again. By the way this was not Ed Huskinson but Ed Ronayne whom Ed Huskinson might remember.
Looking forward to more geological jokes !!
