...After we were done shopping we went back to the hotel, and I got seriously ill with the Tucson Crud. I was freezing then too hot, it was awful. But fever broke at 2:30 in the morning and I was a lot better the next day.

...These beautiful tables are very differently presented than the ones I bought in the tent area. But I still love the tables I got, at a lot less investment, and will be happy to get to have bases made by my artist friend, Charles Strack. He will weld steel into tree trunks and branches to hold them.

They aren't flowers. They were an animal, known as crinoids, a forerunner of the sea urchins, sand dollars and in the the echinoderms family. The fossils specimen is superb.

Just back from a long trip to Washington DC for my bicycle advocacy work. Met with congressmen and senators on the Hill. Had a nice visit to the Smithsonian for the gem and mineral hall, twice! Jeff Post was kind enough to give my friends a backroom tour, along with us of course. And day two was spent photographing almost all the minerals on display, that was quite a task. Anyhow, back to Tucson......
