The passing of Luiz is a great loss to the mineral loving community. I have known Luiz for more than 20 years as one of the friendliest and most knowledgable among the mineral dealers. He has provided me with a number of exceptional minerals from Brazil and I will allways keep a picture of Luiz with the signed label accompanying the specimen of Menezesite I received from him. He will be truely missed. R.I.P.

I just received the latest MR and found a wonderful article on Alvaro Lucio written by everyone's friend Luiz. there's an interesting sentence at the end of the article - Alvaro's son Eduardo will take over the mineral business "once Alvaro decides to retire - which is never as Alvaron is "unretirable" as Carlos Barbosa was." - and as Luiz was also.
