Hi,
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year...
What a wonderful Christmas ball (about 4.5 Ga) that barred olivine chondrule.
Olivine quickly crystallized into skeletal growth, such as snow crystals, forming parallel bars. The intermediate phase was discarded and contains feldspar and other minerals that formed a glassy matrix.
This olivine is relatively pure and pleasantly alters the cross-polarized light (second order) of the thin section of this meteorite (NWA 3358).
