....here you have my 10 favorites of the - all wonderful - specimens displayed in the Show Cases of the Main Show....
I too like the idea of showing one's 10 favorites. Perhaps more of us should do this at the end of all major shows. My selections for Tucson, however, would be very different from my bosses' (Jordi) 10, except perhaps for the rhodochrosite. Note the dominance of European minerals in his selection.

Of course not only ten minerals caught my eye in Tucson, here you have four more that for different reasons I also liked so much. As my Master John noticed, many specimens from my selection are from Europe, but it has some logic considering that this year was the "Minerals of Western Europe" year in Tucson! ;-)
So, to making John (aka "Rondinaire") even more disappointed with me, this four more are them all from Europe! ;-)
This Sphalerite is not the best of the best for this locality, but the combo of a fine Sphalerite + a great gemstone makes the combo very appealing.

Barcelona 03/22/2015
Although other FMFers already mentioned the wonderful display "Over 200 Years of the Harvard Mineral Collection" presented by the Harvard Museum in the Westward Look, as Jordi Deusedes did photos of almost every specimen of the display, now is the time to publish them as a memory of that special event.
More to come...

Every day in the Inn Suites and during my breakfast time I was reading the newspaper Arizona Daily Star ( https://tucson.com/ ) and all those readings served to extract some news that can bring to us an external vision of what is Tucson and its relationship with the minerals.

One of the characteristics of the Tucson's weather is that it is very, very dry. So, this year that it rained with record rainfall (record for Tucson, regular rain for other places;-) the newspaper reflected it on its cover...

I will close my participation in this thread with this news which allows better understand why Tucson Show has been so successful in that particular place. Its modern and contemporary history explains that Tucson lives very close to the minerals and in consequence, some day, on his newspaper you can read as a main news the volume and scope of its mineral resources... Tucson is a city really attached to the minerals, they are part of their identity.

A very cool collection. But what's with the umbrellas?
Jared, I don't know for sure but read somewhere that the purpose of the umbrellas was to soften or diffuse the overhead lights. Peter Megaw would know. _________________ hogwild

In honor of the man who started this board, I'm VERY pleased to present Dave Wilber's interview with Jordi Fabre at the 2015 Tucson Show. Remember to click the cog wheel at the bottom of the video frame to see this clip in HD.

Bryan,
I was looking for my Min Rec all last week and finally got it on Saturday. I have enjoyed watching the 2015 WHIT and especially enjoyed Dave's interview with Jordi.
