In 1994 my son and I decided to go camping in the San Francisco Mountains in eastern Arizona. On the way, we passed through Magdalena, New Mexico and stopped at Tony Otero's shop. He showed us some amazing smithsonites and related several interesting stories about collecting them. We left with these two pieces which he had collected on the 375' Level in the 1960s. The first specimen shows crystals with a rice-grain habit on aurichalcite with specks of what I believe to be tenorite. The second piece is the more typical botryoidal form that made this location famous.
