Very nice piece, AM! At the recently ended Denver show 2 dealers (at least that I saw) had several similar cabinet size examples. Clear quartz with yellow inclusions in the crystal tips. They both said the specimens were from a new find in Colombia. Is yours a new piece? BOB

Hi Bob,

Thanks! I got this in Denver and I was told that it was from a batch found in mid to late 2018. The inclusions in this piece were darker than most of the other yellow tipped quartz specimens I saw at the show.

A Bogotá-based mineral dealer I work with told me that the locality of these golden humboldtine included quartz is uncertain - it could be either from Boyacá or Santander.
He also claims there was only one single find that was made about 15 years ago.
The material on display in Denver could actually come from a collection.
I will probably get more information on this find in a few weeks time.

Thanks for the information. The exact locality has been questioned by others.
