Today starts the "climax" of the whole Tucson Show with its more official part: the TGMS (Tucson Gem and Mineral Show®) or Main Show.

Before we get to the summaries of the TGMS "Main Show" (a heads up - there are about a dozen display cases that are too good to be true) I thought I'd add this note that was only a rumor until I verified it with the HTCC/Inn Suites Show people.
Next year, 2020, will be the last year for the use of the HTCC as a Show venue. Apparently the owners no longer want this event (which seems a tad on the dumb side given the amount of $$ that they must make over the show) and the new venue will be The Hilton El Conquistador which is located well north of the Westward Look just off Oracle Road. (I attach a map of the venue layout that was provided by the Show Committee.)
Lots of mixed reviews about this new venue's location (the main one - WAY too far north) but near unanimous agreement about moving from the HTCC as a good thing. A few years ago the front lobby of the HTCC went thru a major renovation and the hope was that these renovations would continue - no such luck. Most of the rooms have not been touched (or even rented) since last year's show.
And parking this year was a real mess - not just lack of spaces but you had to drive thru the surface of the moon to get around the HTCC and dust was everywhere.
So, things are again changing - i'll have some more thoughts later.
