This rhodochrosite brings back memories for me. Back in the 90's while working in Wyoming, I took a trip to Butte, Montana, the goal was to collect a sample of covellite and rhodochrosite from the mine dumps.
As we arrived at the dump site, we noticed a large loader moving soil. The whole dump pile had been reclaimed and as my wife and I watched with disbelief, he dumped his load, covering the last remaining patch of rock and our collecting trip was over. While I have been fortunate to add a covellite specimen from Butte to my collection, a rhodochrosite specimen has eluded me.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful specimen Don.

Hello, Don. Congratulations.
This is a very good, large, gemmy, smokey and double-terminated (hard to find!) Tessin crystal. I like it very much.
Warm greetings.

Hello Sante,
Thank you so much for your nice words about the Tessin Quartz. I apologize for the poor pictures. It seems that my photography skills are getting worse (or perhaps my eyesight or both). I am very fortunate to have this piece.
I am enjoying very much the thread you started on mining objects...and what a great response from the FMF community.
Stay safe.
Best wishes,
Don
