Hi, I'm new in here and and i need a professional help to identify the attached mineral below that i found in my parents house. I'm not sure its a regular stone or any thing that u can find everywhere. And its a bit heavy for that kind of size.

For us to help you we need you to do some tests. Have a look at this page and tell us the results for hardness and streak.

Is it magnetic?

Without the results, it is almost impossible to say.

Assuming it in from Malaysia (as you say KL for your location), whereabouts do you think they collected it?

I collected similar looking minerals from the mine near Kota Tinggi waterfalls (Waterfall Mining (M) Sdn. Bhd.), in the 1980s. They are magnetic, as they are magnetite.

As tested this mineral is not magnetic. I don't know where or who found the mineral as its been in my parents house for years.

So please test it for streak and hardness, otherwise we cannot begin to help you. Sorry
