Hello Sante,

the nice Stellerite from India reminds me of the "Puflerites" (Stilbite group) from Forra di Bulla! Isn't it so?

Hi, Volkmar.

Yes, I agree. Although many zeolites occur in spherical aggregates, the outward similarity between Stellerite and the distinctive Stilbite-Ca from Forra di Bulla/Puflerloch ("Puflerite") is very high.

Warm greetings.
Sante

I've been away for a couple of days and I couldn't participate before sending a private PM to Sante, so, now with the conversation about the 'Puflerites' thrown it would be difficult to make changes at the captions of the image without affecting what was already discussed, so I'm explaining it openly:
in almost total probability this is not 'Stellerite'. I have had these spherical 'Stellerites' from Jalgaon analyzed several times and they have always turned out to be Stilbite-Ca. I think they are said to be 'Stellerites' because of their spherical shape and without having done any analysis.
Is my feeling that it would be best to change the name of the Sante piece to Stilbite-Ca instead of Stellerite and thus avoid future confusion.

Thank you very much, Jordi.

Good to know. Now the similarity with the so-called "Puflerite" is more explainable.
I'm replacing the name in my archive.

Best regards.
Sante

A nice classic ruby, Sante, for sure on many collector's wishlist!
... I can't edit it but we definitely should remove the "Greece" from the locality information because North Macedonia is a sovereign nation and not part of Greece ;-)
