I've been quietly enjoying these wonderful images. I presume they must be "stacked" images. Christian, would you confirm this, and if so, tell us how many images you stack and how you space them?
Beyond that question, I wish to say the lighting is fantastic. This is a challenge in photographing minerals in general, and second only to depth of field for micromounts specifically. The lighting carries so much information to the eye! If well done, the image springs into 3-D. If not well done, we don't understand what we're seeing!

I love the first atacamite picture so much that I want to make a painting of it, but I would not want to infringe on intellectual property.

All good things must come to an end, and so it is with this session of superb photographs by Christian, too. Courage, don't let the tears interefere with your seeing this last batch ..;-)
Thanks Christian, but don't suppose you can escape us, we'll ask for more!

John White just pointed this thread out to me. Don't know how I missed it.
Superb specimens and superb photography. Well done and thank you, Christian.
And thank you Jordi for taking the time to post them.

Wow! Great pictures. The emmonsite "tree" is awesome. However, a little picky annotation. The hematolithe shown on the first page is, in my opinion, not from Germany. If I´m right, the Moss mine is Sweden

Wow! A great artist.
I love pothography and right now my face is malaquite-green with envy.
Do you absolutely need a motorized focusing system in order to use the z-stack technique? Can it be used with a regular manual focusing stereo microscope?
Many thanks,
Eduardo.
