And that, my fellow mineral enthusiasts, is the end of my report!
We saw many beautiful minerals, we even bought a few. People were in good spirits, Tucson does that to them. The weather was great, the food excellent. Parties, camaraderie, hugs, it was a whirlwind of busy segments.
The prices weren't much different than before, the buying seemed, to us, to be fairly healthy but didn't get that feeling as much as the Hotel Tucson. I was sad to see more people pack up early. But we found some great minerals there and enjoyed doing business with some of the young folks.
I was encouraged with the amount of women I saw shopping for minerals, it is a joy to see new people coming into this hobby.
Jim and I want to thank everyone, Jordi included of course, who put minerals in cabinets for sale or display. It is a huge effort and so many make the "magic" happen.
Jordi, thank you for letting me post my adventures here, you are a good friend and I am thankful for knowing you.
Be well, all our best.
Gail

A lot of excellent work and long hours spent to build a report that has allowed all of us to breathe the Tucson atmosphere without even leaving home.
Many thanks, Gail.

Pretty freaky looking aren't they? They are pyrite concretion on the belemnite guard as quoted in Mineral Observer publication. From the River Dzheganas, Northern Caucasus, Russia.

Thanks, the belemnite looked like it was made of copper or brass.

Gail,
Thank you so very much for all of the expended effort to write up the Tucson show report! Even though I make the Tucson show every year, I always find new information in your report that I somehow missed. It was most enjoyable seeing you, Jim and Elaine and your specially selected minerals, too! Love that linarite! One of my favorite places and one of the earliest I dug (1971). I will see you all at the next show.
Tony
