Munich 2010 is history and before ending, with this post, my participation in this thread, I would like to add some reflections that perhaps could be interesting.

In my opinion (and what has also been seen from other mineralsurfers) Munich has been increasing and improving in recent years, through the work of Christoph Keilmann, son of the historic Johannes Keilmann, it has gotten better leverage, especially with the new organization, grouping four large pavilions by topics, so that although the fair has become much bigger has not fallen into disorder given its excellent organization. Everyone has a pavilion where they can find what they want, but if someone also wants to visit other pavilions, fine, but it saves a lot of work to know where everything is. Moreover, thanks to the many activities that have been added in recent years, Munich has lost that feeling of being a little bit "cold" that it had in the past. And if this were not enough, the Achilles heel in recent years was that of the prestigious exhibitions, but instead this year was brilliant. It is clear that the organization has decided to fix this question and have managed to propose a couple of exhibitions: the Brazilian Beauties and Alpine Minerals, both of "Tucson" quality (to mention some). I believe that the future of Munich is assured and in my opinion it is becoming stronger in its position as the world's number 2 Show and number 1 concerning minerals from Africa and Western Asia, given the difficulties that people of these countries have in bringing their material to Tucson because of the global political situation.

About mineral novelties this year has been the year of one Chinese mine and one mineral species (Alabandite of Peru).
Teodocio Ramos and Luis Miguel Fernández (who was the one who had the best material people told me - I did not get to see them) brought great Alabandite from Uchucchacua mine, Peru, but although no doubt these Alabandite are very good material, in my opinion the number one novelty this year goes to the emergence of a new Chinese mine, since the quality, size and number of Ilvaites, pink Calcites, garnets and some other related minerals such as octahedral pink Fluorite in smoky Quartz, gives us a lot of hope that this mine is a new Dalnjegorsk and if this is so, no doubt that we will have good years ahead with interesting mineralogical material.

Together with these two mega-developments, must be added the good size and very transparent new Scapolites from Karur district, Tamil Nadu, India, and many other small finds (such the Brazilian Fluorapatite with Bertrandite), to not cite an endless list. The Cuprite of Laos, while interesting have been a bit buried by the large number of Cuprites that have appeared from the Rubtsovskoye Russian mine and the Chrysoberyls on matrix from Madagascar are very attractive, but for one reason or another, I have not fallen in love with them.

This was my contribution to Munich 2010; please those who still have thoughts or photos to contribute do not be shy and just do it. I think it is beyond dispute that this thread in its present format (shared) is much better for its breadth and variety that my previous columns of Shows. For sure, hundreds of eyes can see more than just the four of Jordi ;-)

Dear colleagues, I'm sorry that a little late writing a small report on the passed in Munich Mineral Show (Am was too busy at last days)...

In general the show in my opinion was somewhat poorer in terms of new material, but present an excellent Brazilian Installation with samples from both dealers and collectors from.

Finally getting around to photographing my few finds from the show. Not a great year for shopping, largely due to the effects of the current world economic situation on the budget, but if one looks long and hard, there are always a few bargains to be had. Perhaps the best new bit for the collection was the fluorite on feldspar from Strzegom, Poland, already posted. Below are a few more.
