Anyone who has a collection of Brazilian minerals, anyone who has one Brazilian specimen,
anyone who knows how to pronounce Brazil and knows what a rock is should see this book. A masterful work!

Luiz Menezes, I should be serious with you. You never published the complete information about this book! ;-)
I did something in my column about Ste. Marie 2010 -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=12152#12152 but I beleive the book deserves a better article!
Here is again the book's front cover but Luiz, please feed us and complete the details...

Jordi:
I apologize for the delay, I would like to thank Vic for the kind words about the book, I am not one of the authors but I am one of the major contributors.
Since the several comments about the book mentioned on the reports about the Sainte Marie aux Mines show there were the following developments:
- Frank Melanson (Hawthorneden) bought the whole English edition and the distributors of the book on the USA will be Rocks and Minerals and Lithographie
- He is still finalizing the negotiation with a distributor in Europe, that is why I was waiting to make a full comment about it for this Forum.
I am on the USA, on my way back to Brazil after the Springfield show, I will return soon with my review of the book.
Regards
Luiz

Gail, I am sure you will like the book; your killer "Apatite Tree", from Sapo mine, is there.
There are 1500 photos on the book, 730 are photos of minerals (the others are of mines, people, historical documents and old paintings of mines and minerals); among them 680 are photos of minerals that belong to Brazilian collectors, that nobody had seen before (and 67 of them belong to my collection).
The book tells the history of all important Brazilian minerals and ores, and of the most important finds.
Regards
Luiz

Luiz, I was looking at the "tree" yesterday, moved it into a new cabinet and made sure the light showed it to its best advantage. Jim and I are reorganizing all our cabinets, cleaning them and cleaning filters, etc.
I had no idea it was being used in the book, what a special treat!

Gail:
The " Tree" is an excepcional piece, it could not be out of a good book about Brazilian minerals; you will see that it is in good companion, together with several other great Brazilian apatite speciemens.
