This is a locality given for Stibnite with Marcasite on a specimen. I can find references in Google to this locality, but only from mineral dealers. So, at some point, this was given as a locality to dealers, but I don't see anything in Romanian geography that matches.

I suspect the locality is actually Baiut, Maramures, Romania.

Can anyone confirm?

I'm quite sure Bajuz = Baiut. Anyway, if you can publish an image of the specimen then we could confirm it.

The Stibnites have a fine coating of Marcasite, and there is a Baryte typical of the Maramures, Romania area.

Bob,

Typical for Baiut. Maramures county. May come from Brainer or Varvara galleries, who are also Baiut mining area. This is a small locality, with 4-5 thousand people, but in 70-80s working here more than ten thousand miners.
Baryte and marcasite is commonly associated with stibnite in these specimens.

Regards,

Nicu Pascanu
