How ought I to describe these calcite crystals. They appear to be of two Nail Head Spar (flat rhombohedron) termionations, end to end with no prism faces associated with them.

A rhombohedron has six faces, three on the top and three on the bottom rotated 60° relative to those on top. Calcite crystals composed of shallow rhombohedra alone are not uncommon, and that is what you seem to have.
