Dr. Joan Viñals passed away yesterday. He was the main highlight of the recent Spanish mineralogy and an indefatigable help for beginners and professionals.
His decease is a very bad news for the mineralogy, discoverer and publisher of several new species we will miss him a lot in Spain as well as the international mineralogical community will miss him. Probably other FMFers will express better than me whom really was the Dr. Joan Viñals, currently I'm too sad to do better.

Hi Jordi!
Please accept also my condilences from Italy! I have never known Joan, but I perfectly know what it means to lose a dear friend all of a sudden, moreover if he/she wasn't so old. But I think a dear person is never old enough for dieing!
