As is well known, the traffic in the two forums, both English and Spanish, is intensely increasing. FMF has two external servers and is currently exceeding the storage capacity of our two servers’ hard drives. To free up space on those we have made the decision that the posts in the section "What is it? - Where is it from?" will have an expiration date, as is already the case in the section "Mineral Exchange Area"
As of August 7 (the date of the 12nd birthday of the creation of the forum) this section will only contain the topics from the last year and from now on all the topics that are over a year old will be erased automatically.
If someone is interested in preserving something previously published in the section "What is it? - Where is it from?" you should save it with the Word or PDF utilities available in FMF, since the new rule will become effective as of August 8 and therefore they will no longer be available.
The rest of FMF sections will continue their full function, so there is no need to worry about what was published there. This is only a specific measure that we will now apply in a section where, due to its function, it is not essential to keep its history.
Thanks for understanding. |

Tienes toda la razon Jordi...we do not need to preserve questions about rocks from people's driveways forever...a year is plenty. _________________ Siempre Adelante! |

A week or two is pretty generous, too. That's all I seem to be seeing in the feeds for the past few months. |
