Refining Azurite
Hello,
I have a 5%-Azurite stone i.e. from each kilogram of the stone only 50 grams is azurite. I’m searching for a chemical process or a cheap way to separate the azurite portion. The stone includes lime, pyrite, and a bit of malachite, though the main part is lime. I’m searching for a cheap way to extract the azurite portion. You can see the photo in the attachment part.

I’m grateful in advance for your help, and waiting for your contacts and articles.

I would suggest a flotation method.
Search for a azurite collector (use to be a mercaptan).

With best wishes

Lluís

P.D: that involves to crush the ore to dust, then water tanks and bubbling air. Not costly, but energy and devices could be costly.

Thanks for your reply but to be honest I have tested this flotation method and because lime is solved in water in little scales so many times I have to pour the water away and at last the fine azurite won’t be gained.
So I need a real practical method which helps lime to be solved more in water plus another composition; i.e. I need to know another composition too to make the solvability of lime better.
By the way I am await for more help and I’m so so grateful for every comment you may make.

I feel that a discussion about ore processing is far off topic for this sort of forum and I urge Jordi to cut this off ASAP.
