For many on the east coast Don was a fixture. Ever present, industrious, smart and interesting. Don, was a good friend and field collector, spending some of his last collecting adventures hunting quartz with me on the Dolostone of New York, and talking my ear off about the history of the indigenous people of the Mohawk River Valley and geology of the area. Anyone attending Tucson Inn Suites show or the East Coast Mineral Show would have crossed paths with the old codger. As a past officer in the Connecticut Valley Mineral Club, he showed the devotion to the avocation like few I've known. A passionate amateur student of nature and history, he was always ready to absorb all he could from expert, friend or field. And also be the expert if called upon, and sometimes when not called upon. Don passed in his sleep this past weekend. He had a good run.

Awww. Heck. Jim and I send condolences. You know, that’s how I want to go when my time comes...

Our condolences! Sounds like the friend we all would have liked to know.
