Hello everyone. I am not the finder of this rock. It is on another forum an they have not provided information to the question of what it might be. I am posting here to see if all of you can help. I will make sure to pass on the information.

Ran across this rock on the Brazos River near College Station, Texas. Covered with round nodules. Dimensions are about three feet by two feet by 18 inches.

Newbees seem to think that 'old hands' can tell what a rock is just by looking at a photo. While this is sometimes true, it often is not...most often without more information. it could be a rock or it could be concrete. There are instructions http://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=1941 suggesting you tell where it was found, what the rocks in the area are like and composed of [if you can tell]. Are there others like it around or is it the only one like that you can see; hardness, scratch test; does it bubble when some acid from vinegar to HCl is put on it, etc. it is obviiously too large to do a specific density test on, but if you break off a corner, it may be possible to do more tests on it and it may look different inside. It could be a conglomerate, but it looks too uniform to me. I think without more information from your end at best you will be getting wild guesses or no reponses.
