Hi
Just to introduce myself, I am Francien. I live in South Africa and I am 66 years old. I have a couple of "stones", 6 different varieties and would really like to know more about them. I am posting 3 varieties for now, rest to follow. Could you please identify them? I apologize for not giving more information, but I am completely in the dark.
Thank you.

Francien, welcome to the forum, we will try to help
Could you please do a few tests? Hardness and streak are the main ones on this page.

For hardness use glass, steel, copper and your fingernail to get an idea. For streak, the unglazed back of a tile is a simple way of checking.
1 and 2 look like glass slag to me, and the others may well be quartz or sandstone (which is quartz)

I would say all three are glass (lots of bubbles), not natural.

More glass and quartz, I think.
The quartz ones (i.e the first pink one today) should scratch the glass (i.e. the aqua one), but not vice versa. These are typical of the 'stones' stores sell for decorating gardens. The glass ones are used as they are so colorful

The pink ones look like rose quartz.

Hi
These scratches were not done harshly, do I need to do harder scratches?
Test results for all stones - more or less the same
Scratch with steel nail - no mark.
Leave scratch marks on back of ceramic tile.
Leave scratch marks on glass.
Leave scratch marks on back of porcelain tile.
Leaves scratch on front of porcelain tile.
All streaks are white in color.
Thank you for your trouble.

We tend to believe pink is quartz, the rest are glass
