Hello everyone.
Recently I own a nice hematite rose with specular luster. Even though I'm happy with the sample I would like to know if I can enhance some spots that continues with iron oxide coating. Also, I have a hematite/goethite bubble cluster I wish to restore the luster. The two ones are on follow pics. Can I just use iron out on both? I fear to lose some shine of them.

| No, do not use iron Out, oxalic acid, or hydrochloric acid! Any of those will attack the luster of hematite. Try mechanical methods, like a water gun, or a toothbrush with toothpaste. If those don't work, just leave it alone - It's beautiful enough as it is.

I totally agree with Alfredo! Especially that 7 cm hematite rose from Brumado looks already lustrous and makes a very nice and good specimen!
