Jim and I will be heading to Denver for the Merchandise Mart show as well as Marty and Rose Zinn's venue, plus anything else that attracts our attention.
I will be photographing people, minerals and any fun events we manage to find ourselves in.
Please come say hi if you are attending! See you there!

Hi Gail - I would love to attend and meet up with you guys (maybe one day!) but time and distance prevail once more.
I am however, really looking forward to seeing the photos and reading one of your wonderful reports on the show and all the lovely folks you get to meet!
Hope you & Jim have a fab time !

Hi, Gail and Jim,

Have a great time at the Show here! I'm sure I will see you, somewhere or other. Do you know about the Colorado School of Mines Museum, open house reception and silent auction, Wed. evening there on the CSM campus? Don't miss it, all are invited, it's an enjoyable event and a great mineral museum! It's 6 to 9 p.m. I believe (I'll post here later the full invitation announcement.)
Enjoy, Pete

Thanks everyone, nice comments are always appreciated!
Pete, we LOVE the silent auction as we have come away with some real treasures in the past. We also think highly of the museum there, it is top notch.
Thanks for the reminder!

Here it is, 1:30 a. m. and it has been an amazing day! We got up at five a.m. in Dallas to notice that it was pouring rain and dismal, but but we managed to load up the car and head in to the airport. Got there early enough to check our bags and have some coffee and bagels. We found ourselves sitting side by side and a seat with plenty of leg room made for a nice flight.

We arrive in Denver to sunny weather and wonderful mild temperatures! The rental car is an Impala and we load up and head straight to the Holiday Inn show put on by Marty and Rose Zinn. We got out of the car only to see Sam Nassar right away and we chat a bit. He has been ill but we are pleased to see he made it to the show.

We finally enter the halls of "madness" and work our way through the crowds to start visiting dealers, the first being a very nice fellow from Russia who says he knows us through Mindat. While browsing we have friends pop in and say hello, it is old home week! What fun!

Day one, Thursday....the adventure begins!

I apologize for not posting photos earlier, the signal for internet is very weak in this hotel and it kept throwing me off when I tried posting. But tonight seems to be better, so here goes.... these photos are from Thursday, Sept. 17th

We went from the airport to the show at Holiday Inn and managed to run into lots of people we know.
I often think that people who never make shows miss out on the icing on the cake, the great mineral talk and happy faces of friends.
