| I have a specimen with small, highly iridescent chalcopyrite crystals from Reynolds Co., Missouri. The dealer who sold the specimen said the iridescence was natural. Is that likely to be true? | |

| Looks more complicated than a simple hisingerite replacement of ilvaite. Hisingerite normally looks like brown beer bottle glass and generally forms as an alteration of pyrite.

| Hisingerite pseudomorphs after ilvaite are well known from Dalnegorsk and are cited in Bernard and Hyrsl.
