A few years ago, I went to the Rochester Symposium to help present a little paper and really enjoyed it. Am planning on going again this year and was wondering if anyone on the list was planning on attending. _________________ The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life. My husband and I have attended the Rochester Mineral Symposium for over 30 years. We enjoy it more than the mineral shows, and it's a great place to meet old friends.

Our whole family will be going. The younger of our clan will be presenting a paper in the technical session :-)

I've attended the Rochester Symposium every year since 1980 - always a good time despite occasionally driving all day in a www.spam.org to get there or home again! _________________ Woody Thompson

You can get a sense from these posts of the excitement that many of us have for the Rochester Symposium. Just wish it were easier for you folks from Europe (or from the U.S. West Coast) to share it with us! _________________ Collecting and studying crystals with interesting habits, twinning, and epitaxy |

We are planning to stop at Niagara Falls on the way to Rochester from Michigan.
Are there mineral museums in the Niagara Falls area or in Rochester area that are worth
visiting?
Thanks,

Not any mineral museums that I am aware of that are worth visiting. The best museum that is near Rochester (heading east) is at Albany. Lots of good New York state minerals to see there!
