Bob, I'm very sorry but I fear a mineral specimen cannot be sent by email as an attachment, even for Christmas :-((

Copper

Cluster of eight crystals of copper pseudomorph of aragonite. Some experts in Bolivian minerals believe that it is actually copper after calcite after aragonite. Overall size: 54 mm x 49 mm x 26 mm. Major crystal: 16 mm tall, 22 mm wide. Weight: 64 g. From a recent find. It's very uncommon the occurrence of these specimens with eight crystals this size intergrown in a single piece.

San Agustín Mine, Corocoro, Pacajes Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia.

Carles, I continue to be amazed at the uniform high quality of the pieces from your collection that you have shared with us via your fine photos. Each piece is a model of esthetics and it is clear that you have highly refined taste in specimen selection. We can all learn a lot from what you have shown us. Many thanks. Your contributions are ones that I make a special effort to view.

Mr. White:

Once again I feel really honored by your words that I don't deserve. My collection is actually rather humble but is enhanced by the decent pictures I can obtain with great effort and after spending a big chunk of my leasure time, so I'm very happy you appreciate them.

Thanks a lot!

PostPosted: Nov 29, 2011 05:14    Post subject: Collection of Carles Millan (Mindat Photo of the Day)

I must apologize for posting this photo again, but I'm happy because it has been named today's Mindat.org Photo of the Day ( https://www.mindat.org/user-12050.html#2_0_0_0_7_0_ ).

It had been published at FMF for the first time with this post.

Copper

A single crystal of copper pseudomorph of aragonite on a thin matrix of copper. Some experts in Bolivian minerals believe that it is actually copper after calcite after aragonite. Overall size: 38 mm x 35 mm. Copper crystal: 12 mm tall, 19 mm wide. Weight: 15 g. From a recent find.

The lesser width that can be seen in the central part of the hexagonal prism must be attributed to a stretch in the crystal structure caused by the smaller volume of the copper atoms compared with the original carbonate and calcium ions.
