Is the time to start the thread related with the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines Show. Considering the very special circumstances of this edition of the Show (see: The historic Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines Show) I decide to open the topic with something special too... ;-)
With the kind permission of the fine German magazine Lapis I copy the page 5 of the last issue, June 2012, with fresh details about the Show as well as a very significant image of serious works of conditioning in the spaces of the Show.
I would beg to the German FMFers translate to English language the Lapis’s text, I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated for everybody ;-)

Ok, here we go. But only quite short any maybe not in the best English - not much time today for translation work ;-)
_______________
Curious about St. Marie aux Mines …
Soon the St. Marie show will open its gates for mineral collectors, gem dealers and buyers and many more who are interested in rocks. Then we will know if the months of preparation done by the new organizer (the city of St. Marie, represented by mayor Claude Abel) were successful.
Never before there was such a “re-start” in the history of mineral shows. There was only half a year for the new organizer to get involved into the complex structures of Europe’s second largest mineral show. His team did not have the experience that an organizer usually has after many years of presenting shows. Claude and his team had to jump on a fast running train and manage it – and so far they did with success.
They were supported by longtime exhibitors, primarily by Christian Egeler and Yue Tutt. They did not only communicate to the other exhibitors but also helped organizing the show.
The allocation of the booths and the tents did not change. All exhibition space is occupied – by 750 exhibitors overall. So there are only a few less than in the years before. But the organizer told us that there are some more on the waiting list.
It is certain that there will be some improvements: There will be one more parking near the St. Dié tunnel, there will be four instead of three shuttles, each parking area will provide information about the allocation of the show booths. And there will be two new loading areas (at Place Foch and Rue Saint 52) with parking on bail (150 Euro for 90 minutes) where visitors can load or unload.
LAPIS will be at its usual place near the theatre entry and looks forward to see you there!

Additional Info for everyone:
To my best knowlegde, the picture (showing trucks and instruction) is wrongly titled by Lapis. This picture is not about any new piple line, it is about new ground surface done!!!
All exhibitors in the CE area are blessed by a brand new prepared ground surface!
No longer shedding entry and dusty place for the exhibitors & visitors any longer !!!
Everyone can enjoy now.
The city have already heavily invested in many of the village places like this.
You will see it next week...:)
CU next week

I believe the 150 Euros is just a deposit, reimbursable, like in Munich.... ;-)

Correct: The German "Kaution" (i hope i translated it correctly with "on bail"?!) means that you get your money back when you vacate the parking space!

I think in the UK we would say 'a deposit'

Still more info about this new edition of Ste. Marie in another great German magazine, the Mineralien Welt. Thank you for the permission!
Again, please someone (Tobi? ;-) could translate the text to English language? Thanks in advance...

Ok, work in progress, give me some time.
But again, it will be short translation and maybe not the most sophisticated English. Too busy for professional work, sorry.
An idea, Jordi: For each text i translate for our forum, i get one mineral specimen from your shop as a gift ... ;-)

Then you would become a professional translator which I know is not your job, and so you would have to pay some taxes to Frau Angela as well.

:-)
Here are the MineralWelt articles translated into English:
[From MW issue 3/2012]
St. Marie Show ready for takeoff …
Now that the organization of the popular outdoor passed from Michael Schwab to the local administration of St. Marie, the whole mineral community is excited about what is going to happen in Alsace. About 800 dealers got their exhibition space – most of them their usual position, so that everyone will easily find “his” dealer. But there will be also novelties: The old bumpy cobblestone way to the theatre is now covered with blacktop, visitors will be guided by a new car-park routing system and get a faster transport by shuttles […](the part with the new parking on bail is yet translated above.) The special exhibit will be about minerals from the Alsace, shown by local collectors, and there will be an agate exhibit by Peter Jeckel.
[From MW issue 4/2012]
St. Marie 2012: Everything is set …
It seems as if St. Marie is now dressed up and ready for the rush of 800 dealers and 40,000 expected visitors from June 21 to 24. There were some dramatic structural changes: The large dealer parking area was renewed and smoothed, many new parking areas were built, and the courtyard in front of the Val Expo was completely covered with blacktop (for the pleasure of both dealers and visitors). At June 7 the installation of the tents began. It seems as if mayor Claude Abel and his team have all under their control …
