Bad news from the Rice Museum. I copy here the message that we received:
Hello all,
The past Feb 20th 2013, in the middle of the day during museum opening hours, my office was burglarized. Unfortunately in addition to some personal effects, four mineral specimens were also stolen. The stolen specimens are listed below, and photos are attached where available. I would really appreciate if you could please keep an eye out for these specimens and let me know if you hear anything.
brazilianite from Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais, Brazil; with label RM1284 size - 6 cm x 4 cm x 3 cm
aquamarine from Shigar Valley, Pakistan; with label 8050 - size 5 cm x 2.9 cm x 2 cm
gold from Ace Of Diamonds Mine, Liberty, Kittitas Co., Washington; in labeled box RM7261 - size 14 mm x 12 mm x 9 mm
galena from Kansas; no label - size 4 cm x 2 cm x 2 cm
Thanks,
Lara
