Jim and I had decided, at the last minute, to drive down to the Houston Fine Mineral Show that is run by Dave Waisman, the same fellow who also does a number of other shows such as the Westward Look.
We were invited by HAMS ( Houston Area Mineralogical Society ) members, James and Charelle Webb to spent the night and attend a party/Barbeque for the dealers and some attendees.
Jim and I left Dallas and drove 282 miles and got there just about the right time to settle in, head down and visit with all the folks arriving.
The Webbs are kind enough to allow me to post many of their minerals and to show how fun they are.
I dedicate this show report to them.

These are what make mineral shows so much fun, the gatherings and chance to meet and talk about all aspects of the mineral world. Having groups, such as HAMS and MAD and the groups around the country are great, you have mentors that help you, people to go to when you feel that a sale didn't go well, etc. And the monthly meetings and guest speakers are a great learning experience.
