Today is the first set up day for Marty Zinns East coast show, at the Eastern States Exposition grounds, in West Springfield, MA. As per usual there will be over two hundred dealers, large wholesale section, museum store, gold panning, free mineral specimens to the kids, door prizes, lectures by Bob Jones and Kevin Downing to name a few, and over fifty exhibit cases for the Carolyn Manchester collection. The exhibitors always do a great job and service by sharing their collections with us, and at no small expense and effort to them. So come on down and get your fill of fine minerals and mineral folks. Show dates: August 9 -11, 2013.

And please gentle attenders, download here as much images as you can of the show in order to display to us, unfortunate folks who can not attend, what is happening there! ;-)

The most boring, poorly shot, show coverage ever, at your finger tips, ladies and gentlemen. Hold on to your perkies.

Thanks Vic,
so far your photo's have been neither boring nor poorly shot; and your witticism adds further interest !
Like your style, man; thanks for sharing !
Mike (who would, given the means, travel to the show just to see the exhibit from the Carolyn Manchester Collection).

It was a dark and stormy morning. The streets were filled with the volume of a billion rain drops. Hope for the weight of dollars ran deep in the souls of the venders. The public arrives today, Friday the 9th, 2013.

As the mineral collecting public file through door six, and after filling out their door prize forms, they are met with Carolyn's fine exhibit. Oh ya, and a visit to the ATM.

Just back from the Springfield Show. It has become a major show. Beautifully organized and run with lots and lots of major dealers, plus great attendance. The display of Carolyn Manchester's collection was simply awesome. The specimens were spectacular and admirably reflect the great skill that went into selecting them. The amount of effort that went into preparing her collection (only 20% of it actually, I was told) for the show must have been extraordinary and she did it all herself. I did not take any photos but many others did and I am hoping that those who did will post lots of them here, including my favorite, a simply pyrite cube sitting upon a floral like group of amethyst crystals. A little gem. Vic, did you get a close-up of this one?
