Wyoming the "Cowboy State"
Well, Wyoming is the last State of this series that started with "California" in September 2010. It has been a nice and long trip and today it finishes in Wyoming. I enjoyed the trip, I hope visitors and members of FMF enjoyed it too because I will do something with this topic that will need the help of everybody. I intend to upgrade this section "A mineralogical trip through the states of USA", and I will include each state organized alphabetically with all states visible on one individual page. So from now on to see the posts of this Forum you will need to click on the section called "A mineralogical trip through the states of USA" (or on this link )
I will also prepare a similar layout for each state with the nickname and the seal at the top of the page. As I will do this for each state I will, at the same time, add new images and here is where I will need help. Please, FMFers, help me in my task to add more images to the US states and in that way we will have a nicer vision of US mineralogy!

Again, Bob Weaver supplied the photo which heads this thread of Wyoming. One more time, thank you Bob! |

Another addition to the Wyoming page.
Description: |
Baryte Shirley Basin, near Casper, Carbon Co., Wyoming 5 x 5 x 3.5 & 5 x 4 x 3 cm
Pair of Baryte blades self collected in the Shirley Basin area in central Wyoming. The Baryte blades can be found in small pockets along high cliffs of consolidated volcanic ash. I spent many weekends searching for these and only found one pocket in miles of cliff faces that were searched. |
