Yes, and by the looks of it, it has been exposed to the elements for a long time. The fact that is is not water worn (rounded) is encouraging.

| I found a lot of lead shot from shooting targets in the field up the hill from the creek in the same area I found this piece of quartz. Would that indicate it came from the same area?

It could also mean that quartz prospectors are popular targets:-)

Found this in the creek today. Is it worth cleaning and what would I use to clean it with? Looks kinda like small crystals with a lot of creek moss build up

| Good signs. Obvious crystal growth into open space. And a rather large space the crystals have grown into. What might these crystals be? Do the hand specimens seem unusually heavy? My first thought was Baryte. Then it was cleavelandite. Look on the high ground around the creek, if any. Maybe scratch around a bit on either side of where you found this, and a little up hill. Your field collected specimens show that there is pocket mineralization in the area. Interesting arm chair collecting opportunity. Lets see what you find.

Your last picture of white quartz rock is exactly what I search for when looking for quartz crystals, as that is their host rock. You are getting hot!!!

If it is quartz, any rust remover solution. Oxalic acid for several days is known to work well, but as its dust and fumes can be toxic, only use it outdoors. Hydrochloric acid is the fastest way, but of course requires appropriate caution. Whatever method you use, soak afterwards for a good while a couple changes of plain water to make sure there's no residual chemicals on the sample.
Before you try anything, make sure it's quartz first, of course. If it's, for example, calcite, acids will eat away the crystals.

I think it would be safe to call what you've found, "float". It looks to have been piled in that spot, but regardless, it is sort of an indication of whats lurking below. To echo Pierre, follow the quartz, follow the quartz. Not quite as easy as Pierre has it, what with all your overburden. At some point I hope this tread will merge into the, "How to find a pocket" thread, if you know what I mean. Keep up the good work.

| With all the pieces or float I've been finding that should indicate the pocket is close to the surface. With all the huge pieces of quartz everywhere, I'm pretty sure all 20 acres of property is on top of the quartz vein lol
