Rei,

I will try the vinegar test ! I wonder if a little oil would hide the defects? ;-)

Oops! Now I can see for certain that there is no 'foul play'! There is no question, no glue involved. :-) :-) :-)

Pierre,

One last shot taken at the post mortem exam I performed on the tomato twin. The cause of death was not determined, but the twinning is apparent ;-)

Hi Don, as an expert on the mineral specie discussed in this thread, I have a question or two for you. I have noticed a growth of some strange mineral species on tomatosite. Could you be so kind to help with the identification. Best regards :-)

Hmm... I hate to say it, but it looks asbestiform and could pose an inhalation hazard. You might want to dispose of this one!

Hello Pierre,

It appears to me that your Tomatosite has developed a mycelial growth with fruiting bodies or spores, possibly rhizopus sp. Perhaps a culture and special stains would help.

Hi to Riana.

Don

Hi Rei, I took your advice and disposed the specimen.

Hi Don, thank you for your expert analysis . I am quite relieved that this is not a new specie as I have no desire for it to carry my name:-) :-) Best regards to Gwen.
