Thank you, but my wife is not only beautiful but also very smart and that's why she don't attend the mineral Shows... ;-)
Julia, the beautiful lady that you know from the Shows is a (very) professional hostess, I employ her just for the Munich Show and she is not my wife, or at least, not to my knowledge ;-) ;-)

I think I better not type anything on my tiny mobile phone! I think Don has the closest interpretation what I was writing!
As Jordi wrote, not much new, still so many interetsing and fine specimens for sale,
I remember in the early 1990's one year I had no time to drive to Munchen. I flew, airline ticket was extraordinary expensive and so was hotel.
That year I found TWO so so specimens, the worst Munich show ever! Worst show ever!
No one can complain this year that there was not much to see. There was plenty of fine classics to new fresh material. There were also some rare uglies, and not so rare uglies to be had. Mischa Anosov from Moscow, Russian Minerals in A5 had the largest number of rare and very very ugly cool Goethite balls on matrix from Volodarsk. I dug the beginning of that pocket in January 2013 and found some nice ones. However the pocket was emptied from huge slabs hanging above the cavity containing a few large topaz crystals and here those were recovered.
Brookite as we can see from Pakistan, the best beating most other finds.
Now it must be said that many of the very best specimens never even make it TO the show. Some do and are shown under the table. Therefore, in Bryan Swoboda's filming of "What's Hot in Munich" we get a glimpse of some of these treasures which often disappear as rapidly as they appeared.
Despite not filming except for a short sequence on Saturday It seems that I get less and less time to see minerals. I used to do every table and display case many rounds. Not this year, and helping friends to unpack, looking at behind the scene specimens...
Shall I bring sunglasses, beard, peroque for the Wednesday and Thursday perhaps next year. At one point I was considering a Burka but that could draw unwanted attention.
Lo and behold, on Saturday after lunch I found my best find, right in front of everyone and too good to be true.
It is NOT for sure that all goodies go fast. I have seen specimens make it to shows during 2-3 years until the price is right for me to take the baby home.
Cheers Peter

I can not resist and I want to add my opinion.
This year was the first time for me to visit Munich on Friday. I had the possibility as an official representative of our mineral club. A great experience - a lot of space for every visitor, fresh air,... I met a lot of nice people in person, which I know only from Mindat or FMF (from Germany, Spain, USA and Austria of course). I spent more than 2 hours for discussing and small talk with these people.
New finds are rare this year - this is a problem of the "main-stream-collector". In my case, I'm looking mostly for my favorites. In my opinion everyone who is looking for new things, can find new things. The high end dealers offered best qualities for high prices. One of this dealers offered an aragonite specimen (Flos Ferri) from the Styrian Erzberg, Austria in cabinet size with damage in several places. This specimen was labeled with 7200 €!!! Sorry, out of reality! My best Flos Ferri from this locality has a diameter of 30 cm and without damage. What is it worth? 25000€? Anyway, you may find good quality for good price.
I was disappointed about the special exhibition and I expected some more.
My personal conclusion:
A lot of nice people.
Thousands of mineral specimens.
Not enough time.
Not enough money.
Here is one of my new specimens I acquired in Munich:
Mineral: | Aragonite |

There is an advantage that the prices are (sometimes !!!) high. You do not have to visit the show on Wednesday to see them. We can even admire show after show just like Ste Marie or even Tucson.
I had photographed these two specimens at Ste Marie.
