Barcelona 10/25/2015
Munich 2015 is arriving and now is the busiest time to prepare everything, like the photo below of the pre-show 2013 shows, but in few days the Mineralientage will open their doors and the mineral world will turn around this Show.
To start just let you know that in the great thread New generation for picture - Ploum a kind of informal appointment grew spontaneously :

One of the nicest things of the main Shows is the social part. For example if you are going to be in Munich Show and you visit Ludmila and Michael of the well know Russian magazine Mineralogical Almanac, then you will know that the 15 December 2015 a symposium will run in Moscow. with the topic : “The Future of Sharing Mineral Information: Online, periodicals, or both?”

One of the novelties that will be displayed in Munich: geodes of Quartz filled with sprays of elongated crystals of Gypsum (analyzed) from Morocco, probably from Agadir area.

This case is part of the fantastic "Precious Stones" exhibition (Edel Steine) featuring many masterpieces of the mineral world.
The label of that case states that these 2 pieces are from Colombia.
In reality the specimen on the left features a 1,869 carats/19.5 cm long crystal from the Rist mine, Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina, USA.
Its permanent home is the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

The special exhibition Gem-minerals is fantastic but as always in Munich are the labels from the displayed specimens TERRIBLE. It is so stupid that you need a smartphone and app to get more info about the displayed specimens !
