Opening Day was yesterday. More to come from me on the Mexican minerals seen at the show......Superb collection of Dr Peter Megaw (an understatement), a few classics with dealers (Miners lunch Box, Kristalle, and others) and dealer XTAL with some new galena, arsenopyrite and fluorite from Mapimi described last month in the "What's new from Mexico" column.

The show is over. I was on location for the set up Thursday and shopping Friday. Of course, Mexican minerals were what I had my eyes out for. A lot of classics, which will be posted below.

Unfortunately not much out there from a what's new perspective. As I mentioned earlier, XTAL had some of the new galena, arsenopyrite and fluorite from the deeper levels of the Ojuela. This is all I saw from a new perspective.

Nice pictures of some examples seen at the show, but perhaps of more importance, how would you and other attendees, rate the show? The show attendance, the sales from hi end thru midrange material, and the mode or tenor of dealers/collectors talk. Is there anything that can be gleaned regarding the near future of mineral collecting from observations at this show?
This years East Coast show was the first in several years that I did not attend. DENVER starts in just 3 weeks now! BOB

The show is over but the Peter Megaw – Minerales Mexicanos exhibit remains fresh in my memory with an abundance of pics to help me with my memory. Before up-loading the 50 cases of Peter’s collection, I will be highlighting those specimens that caught my eyes, first for their relatively unknown or less known localities (some learning's for me) and secondly, my favorites on exhibit. There were an abundance of favorites (a few hundreds) that could include in “my favorite" but I have tried to limit myself to approximately 10 in each category.
