I am a prospector. I search for new gemstone sites in British Columbia, Canada. I have been studying geology reports all winter and went to find a fluorite site on Whiteman Creek, Vernon, BC with some friends. They walked into the woods and I said lets go check out these cliffs. They kept walking so I said I would meet up with them later. I went down to the cliffs and noticed very very small white fluorite crystals along a crack in the cliff. I started digging and the crack turned into a cleft or pocket and these nice color change fluorites with eye and blue line phantoms came out. The site is claimed (Isometric claim). I hope to work the site with my partners with tools in the future. For now its a one time find of fluorite from the blue root pocket.

What a great find, congratulations! A dream for a prospector to open such a cleft with superb fluorites. And they ARE really superb, with their light-blue colour and their morphology they remind me of those from Shangbao Mine (Hunan/China) which has become one of the most-desired localities for fluorite collectors. Just great, thank you so much for sharing your finds with us. I wish you many more of these wonderful specimens - and us here more pictures of them :-)

I agree.....what a great find!..... I spent several years in Spokane Washington and poked around a bit in SE B.C., not too far from you, in the Nelson and Trail areas.

I know how great it feels when your field collecting finally leads to finding some truly hi quality finds. BOB
