I guess this specimen could also go in the "favorite fluorite" section, but I think the Calcite is the star of the show here. This specimen is from Illinois, Denton mine and the Bahama Pod. It measures 6x5x5 cm with a very gemmy amber/orange perfect calcite perched on dark purple fluorite.

Mineral: | Calcite on Quartz |
Locality: | Lawrence County, Indiana, USA
|
Dimensions: | The geode is 7 cm and the calcites are up to 2 cm |

Like looking into a small window, this 10.0 cm x 8.5 cm very unusual flat sided geode has a cavity hosting a 3.8 cm complex terminated calcite nestled in dolomite groupings and surrounding quartz. Self collected about 2006.
One dealer/collector has pleaded with me to acquire it every time he sees it in a display.
Mineral: | Calcite and Dolomite on Quartz |
Locality: | Harrodsburg area, Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana, USA
|
Dimensions: | the complex calcite is 3.8 cm |
