We had this request from friends. Can anyone please help?
We are currently in the south of France, Antibes to be exact. I was wondering if you have any advice or knowledge on this region for quartz or other minerals. We have done extensive research but are struggling to find any real helpful information. We are 2 hours from the mountains where the terrain seems perfect for mining. We are tempted to drive out and expect the land and look for tell signs of quartz! If you have any advice or information I would love to hear about it! '' _________________ Pierre Joubert

Hello Pierre,
Even if I know the area I never went prospecting. I quickly checked the Geoforum for localities around and none seem to point to quartz. The only post regarding quartz dates back several years and the crystals were found on the site of a new building exposing mineralizations apparently.
If they were looking for copper related minerals the best bet would be Daluis' cayon. But I never had a look at it as a collector, just a tourist. There were copper mines (Roua mines facing the "point sublime") but getting there is rather dangerous. At least if they find nothing, they will definitely enjoy the trip getting there. If they have a full day, going back by the Cians' canyon will make the trip even better.
