A Collector’s Guide to the Minerals of Spring Creek, South Australia is now out.
The Spring Creek Copper Mine near Wilmington, South Australia, has produced almost sixty different mineral species, and is the Type Locality (from where the mineral species was first described) for five of those. It was mined from 1860 through to 1874, and again from 1906 to 1916, and is now part of the Mt Remarkable National Park. This 98 page full colour book describes many of the minerals from the mine, and should assist collectors with identifying some of their specimens.

Monthly Mineral Chronicles Volume 3 Issue 4 is now available.
This month, in this 127 page full-colour issue, we have lots of examples of things you can do while you are isolated. Also, articles on darkfield illumination, the Defiance Mine, Gleeson, Cochise Co., Arizona, the minerals of the Don Hill Cutting, Devonport, Tasmania and reports on the Hobart Mineral Show, Tasmania, the International Mineral Show, Rijswijk, Netherlands, and more on the Tucson Show with Paul Stephen Cyr.
After I received Brian Beyer’s article on darkfield illumination, I had a go at building something using black card. It works quite well.
