Quartz from San Cristobal, Municipio Suaita, Santander Department, Colombia. (Nº-103).
Tessin habit quartz transparent and rich in faces.
We can distinguish a very narrow face by the discontinuity of the striations seen through the crystal.
Tessin habit crystal is the result of repeated alternating termination and prism faces forming a tapered crystal with striated faces.

Halite from Dead Sea, Madaba Governorate, Jordan.
Botryoidal brain-like Halite with pearly luster and 3,5 cm thick, self-collected in 1999.
This specimen coated a rock on the Jordanian shore of the sea. The backside preserves the mold of sea rock.
The Dead Sea is the lowest place on Earth at 430 meters below sea level and a deep hypersaline lake that actively precipitates halite as a response to its negative water balance.

Quartz from Pella, Lower Orange River, Northern Cape, South Africa.
Quartz plate with both sides terminated and mustard yellow coloured, one of them with red tips.
This type of quartz is locally called "fire quartz" as it resembles the coals of a fire. The effect is due to a very light hematite staining on the mineral as it was forming.
