Quartz from Pella, Lower Orange River, Northern Cape, South Africa.

Quartz plate with both sides terminated and mustard yellow coloured, one of them with red tips.

This type of quartz is locally called "fire quartz" as it resembles the coals of a fire. The effect is due to a very light hematite staining on the mineral as it was forming.

Quartz (variety jasper) from Montjuďc, Barcelona ciudad, Barcelona. Espańa.

It was collected in the Montjuďc mountain, located in the city of Barcelona. Nowadays, it´s impossible to obtain samples with this size. A classic specimen and locality.

From the Arguijo collection.

Dedicated to our friend and host Jordi, who lives close to Montjuic.

A classic specimen from Berbes. Ex Arguijo collection. From a 1980 find.

 Dimensions: 92mm x 82mm x 67mm. Main crystal is 45 mm on edge.
 Description:
Group of fluorite crystals with polysynthetic growths on the faces, translucent and with a blue to violet tone (depending on the incident light). They are accompanied by "book" shape lenticular baryte crystals.

From a find in the early 1960’s. Acquired in 1968 by Gerard Vogel (NL).
