This specimen was found at the Woodlawn quarry in Wilmington, DE. The quarry was in use from 1850-1910 for its feldspars (pink orthoclase and white plagioclase). Almandine is an accessory mineral in this intrusion site along with muscovite and beryl var. aquamarine.

This is a lab-irradiated smokey. I bought this one because I love the deep color, dual termination, and dynamic look.

Here are my largest muscovite finds. Both are from the Woodlawn quarry's heap of tailings.

All I know is that this one's from China. Does anyone know more about this type of calcite?

Hi Turbo!
A very nice smoky quartz. I like it! But where is it from?
However, I think we must regret it has been enhanced by irradiation. Those specimens have to be either refused or made it very clear that have been treated, to prevent some people from getting confused about their real nature. It is discouraged to post that kind of pieces at FMF except in the topics opened with this intention ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewforum.php?f=18 ).
Please, keep posting your collection.
Thanks,

Unfortunately I don't know where this irradiated smokey is from. Thanks for letting me know about the appropriate topic to post this specimen. I don't have any other minerals that I know to be fakes or manipulated in some way, but i'll remember in the future to post them in the correct location.

This is one of those inexpensive little aragonite specimens from Sefrou, Morocco. I plan on getting a larger specimen of this variety.

Isn't "Serfou" but "Sefrou" (Sefrou, Sefrou Province, Fès-Boulemane, Morocco)
Do you want that I change it in your post?

Sure thanks. Its actually spelled wrong on the label it came with, which is why I spelled it wrong. I shall update my label with the specific location!

This is my amethyst. I plan on getting a better piece. There looks to be something fibrous included in some of the crystals. Almost like tiger's eye. I don't know where this specimen is from.
